MA ADWO!!! (good evening, in Twi)

so i have exactly 11 minutes to update.
I'm at the internet cafe on campus now. We have the evening to ourselves. Our first free night.
Today we went to W.E.B Du Bois' house, and a tour about the first Ghanian president. Both were interesting, but my favorite part was standing in W.E.B. Du Bois' library. Oh my goodness, i stood there in awe for about ten minutes. He had an entire shelf dedicated to books he had written himself.. so inspiring for someone who hopes to do similar work to his.. and also write books. It was such an encouragement.

I found my journal!! So i'm going to take the next 8 minutes to write two of the entries that kinda capture some of my time here... enjoy : )

Jan7-
"I wake up to the souhds of Africa. In the far, but also near distance people are talking, yelling, laughing, calling to one another. There is not just one voice, but one comprised of many. Every once in a while one stands us and out from the accumulating of them all and you can distinguish the individuals gender, attitude, and purpose in calling out.
I also hear a variety of burids. Some whistle, some crow, some twirp. A lone cricket chirps in the long grass that grows just out my back door. Just past this grass is the village that is home to all the poeaceful and reassuring calamity that is Africa.
The minute i move, i feel the stickiness attack. My face feels wet. My hair is damp, huge, and uncontrollable. The fan makes me chilly, but nothing can dry the thick air in this time, Ghana's DRY season.
We arrived last nighyt after 34 long hours of travel. Already, adulterous love for Africa was seeping back into my mind and heart. Though my body was exhousted beyond words, I was invogorated as I stepped off the plane, and then out of the airport into the continent that had wont my heart a few years before. I'm back. I'M IN AFRICA."

AHH THREE MINUTES LEFT!! might not get to finish so I'll just write the other one the next time i get a chance to get on.

Hope everything is well from the states, and I miss you all. Until later.. PEACE!
